If an intimate ceremony in the woods surrounded by old tall trees, thick ferns, climbing vines and the endless skies is your dream wedding; welcome to River North. Located just 20 minutes from downtown Asheville & 7 miles from the airport, our unique property offers both convenience and privacy alike. The land is 9 acres of family owned property with a private forest, a picturesque pond, walking trails and 3 cabin accommodations.
With multiple site locations within the property, River North can accommodate micro weddings, elopements and and intimate gatherings for up to 35 people.
The Gathering Place
Location & Vibe: Situated in the center of your own private forest, The Gathering Place offers a rustic & natural setting that offers 360 degree woodland views. Rustin rod iron fencing, white antique pews and chandelier make this venue picture perfect.
Accommodations: Ceremony seating for up to 35 people.
Other Details: This setting is completely outdoors and does not have lighting.
Location & Vibe: Our newest addition to the property, The Ruins were completed in Fall 2020. This open air deck is situated above a natural running spring that feeds into our lush, overgrown pond in the spring and summer months. In the fall you will be surrounded by the bright oranges and reds that Western Carolina is known for. No matter the season, this unique structure gives the feeling of spending time in an abandoned "ruin" that the earth took back. Complete with moody lantern lighting, starlight ceiling twinkles & a stone fireplace; your guests will be talking about their night in the forest for years to come. (For events in the colder months, we offer clear plastic curtain "walls" that will keep the heat from the fireplace in and the views open)
Accommodations: The Ruins is available for 35 guests for a ceremony or reception.

Wedding packages: 2-35 people
Our micro wedding packages come in two options: including cabin accommodations or without. Our cabins sleep 18 combined and are perfect for out of town guests or locals wanting a stay-cation with their event. All packages include set up of our chairs at your site as well as an on-site liaison for your event.
Each package includes use of the both The Gathering Place & The Ruins.
Venue Rental Only= $1,500
This package includes venue rental for 3 hours. Other areas on the property are available for photo taking and exploring, provided they are not occupied by other guests or rented
Venue Rental + 1 cabin for 1 night= $1,700
This package includes venue rental for 3 hours with 1 night of cabin accommodation. Other areas on the property are available for photo taking and exploring, provided they are not occupied by other guests or rented..
Venue Rental + 3 cabins for 1 night= $2,100
This package includes venue rental for 3 hours with 1 night of cabin accommodation in all three of our cabins. Other areas on the property are available for photo taking and exploring, provided they are not occupied by other guests or rented.
Venue Rental + 3 cabins for 2 night= 2,600
This package includes venue rental for 3 hours with 2 nights of cabin accommodation in all three of our cabins. Other areas on the property are available for photo taking and exploring, provided they are not occupied by other guests or rented.
Additional nights of cabin rentals are available for an additional nightly cost.
Additional hours are available for $300/hour.
Weekday Weddings get a $300 discount off the package pricing.
Tables, Chairs & Other Items: Each location includes ceremony seating up to 35 people. Farm tables are available that seat up to 25. Additional tables and linens will need to be rented from a local vendor.
Food & Drinks: You are welcome to bring in your own drinks / food for your event. Alcohol is permitted as long as it is not being sold and is served responsibly.
Music: Non-amplified music is allowed. The Ruins is wired with wireless speakers.
Other Fees: We require a $400 cleaning deposit for weddings. This is refundable within 7 days following the event.
Other Details: Photos are welcome in all areas of the woods.
Booking/Payment: 50% deposit is due at time of booking with the balance due 7 days before your event.
Insurance: All bookings require a event insurance policy to be obtained. Please ask if you need a referral.
On Site Liaison: Each booking includes an onsite liaison that will work with you on the day of your event. The purpose of this liaison is to assist with property related questions or issues only. If you need an onsite day of coordinator, one can be hired locally.
Check-in is 2pm and checkout is noon.
This A -frame cabin set at the entry of the woods offers comfortable sleeping accommodations for 6 people. Complete with a sunken jet tub, wood burning stove, king bed dressed with a down comforter, patio seating, internet TV, antique dining table for 6 & everything you need to make your own meals; Haven is the perfect place to sleep in & stay up late listening to the sounds of the bullfrogs from your deck.
Sleeping: 1 king bed, 2 twins and 1 pull out sleeper couch.
Built in the traditional style of woodland cabins, StoryBrooke offers 2 loft bedrooms that are perfect for multiple families, comfortably sleeping 8. Each loft includes a new queen bed with a down comforter, internet TV, & a couch that converts to a sleeper. Downstairs offers a spacious dining area, wood burning stove, 2 bathrooms, cookware stocked kitchen & 2 separate decks for enjoying the view.
Sleeping: 2 queen beds, 2 sleeper couches & a trundle.
The quaintest of the three cabins, Hideaway is the perfect place for a couple or small family to spend some time in the woods. Comfortably sleeping 4, the one bedroom retreat offers a new queen bed dressed with a down comforter, a wood burning stove and a sleeper couch, perfect for the kids. An internet enabled TV is there for relaxing on the couch after a long day exploring the beauty Western North Carolina has to offer. The kitchen is ready for use with all new cookware, plating and cutlery.
Sleeping: 1 queen bed & sleeper couch.
